Marble City Cyclers run the second Tour de Kilkenny on Sa 31st July 2010 in aid of Barretstown, a charity aimed at rebuilding lives affected by childhood cancer.
Marble City Cyclers run the second Tour de Kilkenny on Sa 31st July 2010 in aid of Barretstown, a charity aimed at rebuilding lives affected by childhood cancer. Three routes were available to suit and cater for cyclists of all abilities: 160 km, 100 km and 40km. Departure and arrival took place in Kilkenny Rugby Club, just outside Kilkenny on the Waterford Road.
Close to 500 cyclists participated during the day. It was challenging for everybody, it was tough for some, easier for others but everybody was proud to have completed the route…even so we heard comments of exhausted cyclists saying they would sell the bike on e-bay the next day…but, most probably, they would have end up buying it back on the following day !
A big thank you and congratulatios for the organization has to be given to Marble City Cyclers, the local garda, the people feeding the cyclists, the school in Listerlin with the children welcoming the riders dancing at their arrival for the food stop, all the helpers and volunteers.
